BONE Health—Protecting Our Structure

Afraid of falling? Of course we are, who isn’t? But does our body have the functional capacity to catch itself before a fracture happens? New evidence suggests that our bone density is much more than a test score; it’s really determined by how well we can integrate our ability to balance, our strength, our neuromuscular coordination, and our posture.
Kind of what yoga does for us! That’s not to say all yoga is safe as we age; sadly, it is not. Movement is essential for our wellbeing, but we’re learning more about what healthy movement is, and how that movement will allow us to thrive and lessen the chances of a fall.
Join Danielle as we also discover why “the old way” of monitoring our bone health really is only a small, and often misleading, part of the story. We’ll also begin to develop healthy strategies and modifications to continue to build our practices that may reduce risks of fracture.
